Today Nail Magdeev, the Naberezhnyye Chelny City Mayor, visited the Essen Production AG confectionery plant. His attention was focused on the new automated candy and chewy caramel production lines

The Mayor, accompanied by the company’s founders, Deputies of the Republic of Tatarstan State Council, Vadim Maheev and Leonid Baryshev, familiarized himself with the second production facility.

Currently twelve production lines are in operation at the confectionery plant, and work is in progress to launch a thirteenth one. The opening of the second production facility has allowed the company to achieve the highest level of productivity in Russia, amounting to more than 13 million rubles per person per year.

Essen’s second confectionery production facility created 90 additional jobs.

Nail Magdeev emphasized the prospects for confectionery production development in Naberezhnyye Chelny: “It’s a unique production facility! Significant financial resources have been invested into it. It’s important because it will allow us to create additional jobs in the city. These require new competencies for young people looking for a job. A significant confectionery cluster is emerging in our city, which will need a stream of new employees. One could say that the most important thing is that Naberezhnyye Chelny, thanks to such leaders as Vadim Maheev and Leonid Baryshev, has already become the confectionery capital of the Republic of Tatarstan.”

As part of its development, the confectionery cluster plans to cooperate with educational institutions and food manufacturers in Tatarstan. “Today, there is a significant demand for technologists and these need to be trained. While earlier vocational-technical schools were oriented at KAMAZ, today we understand that Naberezhnyye Chelny needs to develop secondary vocational education oriented at the food industry and, in particular, at the confectionery industry”, Leonid Baryshev, the General Director of Essen Production AG, added.

“Companies such as Essen Production, are large consumers of sugar, flour, milk and the other components necessary to produce confectionery products. Here one can see the synergetic effect of cooperation with local manufacturers”, Nail Magdeev commented after familiarizing himself with the product range.

The new confectionery production has a high export potential. The company supplies its products to 36 countries around the world, including in South-East Asia, China and Vietnam. The forecast of confectionery product export volume for 2019, taking into account the new production lines, amounts to 780 million rubles. The holding’s total export volume is more than 3 billion rubles.

Every year, Essen Production AG produces more than 29.5 thousand tons of products: bars, rolls and candies with jelly, fondants, truffles and combined fillings, as well as hollow wafer-based candies.
